• In 2004 LACAP's Salvador Allende Festival contributed towards the well being of Toronto artists by heading a recommendation to the art councils advocating for broader access to their granting processes for recent immigrant artists. These efforts resulted in the modification of the Toronto Arts Council eligibility for individual artist programs in the following manner: "Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (Landed Immigrants) or have an application pending for Permanent Resident."           • There are plenty of ways in which you can participate. There are many needs to be fulfilled in relation to the status of artists and the role the arts can play in facilitating social integration and economic development. Changes that translate into true benefits for us all. You too can help in this process by lending your research skills, by preparing recomendations or helping in spreading the word and by organizing others.
